technology

Recently I had to purchase some college textbooks for some courses and as one would expect, they were expensive. As usual the latest editions of university books where over the hundreds of dollars but they are all bundled in with "Connect" access codes for the online portion of the class. What is surprising is that these codes by themselves cost more than the book itself and they only work for the one semester you have that course. This is simply a plain rip off and I don't see how it can be allowed. For my accounting course a textbook is not required, only the the online homework access which requires a code to be used. It used to cost 35$ but now since they know the professor isn't making a textbook required, the price is now 50$ just for a simple code that will let you do the online homework and only work for the next 4 months I have this course. Just like that a college student pay's for his studies when he barely has anything but the company offering these services in such manners; keep billion in revenues flowing through their books
